Harewood Road Area Parking Chelmsford

Residents in Harwood Road, and many of the roads off it, are becoming very aware that parking locally is more of a problem, as well as across the whole of Chelmsford.

With the usual difficulties at the start and end of the school day, we now find that commuter parking is also becoming an issue. Since other roads close by will soon be part of the residents parking permit scheme, commuters and others are moving this way, parking and walking into town.

One of the ways of ensuring fair parking for residents is to request a one hour permit parking area. This is often just enough to deter commuter parking. A permit holders only parking scheme could be all day or for shorter periods of time for example 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, etc. The permit charge is currently £26 for one year, residents 65 or over can claim one free residents permit.

Please let us know what you think of moving to a permit parking scheme by completing the online survey.
