No to new houses in School Lane, Broomfield

School Lane street sign

Chelmsford's current Local Plan (for 2001-2021) proposes 223 houses and a brand new primary school on the Broomfield Place site. But this has all been dropped from the new Draft Local Plan for 2021-2036, due to be in place early next year.

It looks like Essex County Council may be trying to speed through a sale of the land behind Broomfield Place before the new Local Plan comes in and blocks housebuilding on the site.

We need to put pressure on Chelmsford City Council not to let this go ahead. This is the wrong place for houses.
