Linda Mascot

Linda has lived in Tile Kiln for the past 23 years. With over 25 years experience of community involvement/projects she is Vice Chairman of Tile Kiln Residents' Association & Neighbourhood Watch and a Governor of Mildmay Junior School.

As a Trustee Director of Moulsham Lodge Community Trust, she has campaigned to restore a Community Hub to this area which has resulted in the newly opened Community Station in Moulsham Lodge.

In 2012 Linda was a volunteer Gamesmaker at the London 2012 Olympics, a Tourmaker at the Tour de France, and also helped dismantle the Poppy Installation at the Tower of London. Previously Linda served on the Overview & Scrutiny and Licensing Committee and was the Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Communities.

Freda Mountain

Freda has lived in Goat Hall for over 40 years and has represented the ward since 1987. During her time she has had the privilege of being Mayor of Chelmsford and more recently Deputy Mayor.

As a councillor, Freda has fought for residents over a wide range of issues and dealt with large numbers of personal casework. She is currently the group secretary, and is on the Planning and Licensing Committees.

In 2013, Freda became the first ever woman to be given the freedom of the City of Chelmsford for her services to the community, outside of politics. She is a trustee, and the chairman of Age Concern Chelmsford Day Centre and a Trustee of three other charities, as well as being actively involved with several other local organisations.

    Chelmsford residents are invited to an Open Day at the council's recycling depot, to see what happens to the 25,000 tonnes of materials that is recycled each year. Freighter House will be holding this year's Recycling Open Day on Saturday 25th June from 10.00am - 2.00pm. It is near the Boreham interchange services, at Drovers Way, Boreham, CM2 5PH.

    Repair work is due to start on 17th May in Linnet Drive and Firecrest Rd.

    Notices have now gone out to residents in Linnet Drive and Firecrest Road advising them of forthcoming road repairs and micro resurfacing.

    Carrageway planning will begin on 17th May, whilst repairs are programmed to begin on 19th May (weather permitting) and last five days.

    Overgrown hedges cut back on school walk footpaths

    Several weeks ago Karen, a resident of Tile Kiln, contacted Cllr Jude Deakin about the difficulties walking along the footpaths leading to Mildmay School. The walk each day was becoming quite a challenge due to overgrown hedges. The issue was reported to the city council.

    The Miami Roundabout underpass is due to get a face lift.

    City Councillor Freda Mountain has frequently highlighted the poor condition of this much used route to and from Wood Street and New London Road.

    County Councillor Jude Deakin requested a community initiative project to upgrade the walls of the underpass as it had not received a clean up for some time. The project has been given the go ahead. It is part of a larger program which is scheduled to be completed by the Autumn.
