New and expanding primary schools in Chelmsford

March 24, 2014 10:14 AM

Three Chelmsford primary schools are set for expansion and two new primary schools are proposed (with others to come). Essex County Council has commenced a public consultation to:

  • expand Oaklands Infant School, Moulsham Infant School and Moulsham Junior School
  • establishing two new schools - in Maltese Road (near Rainsford Road/Parkway - 210 places) and in the new Greater Beaulieu Park (White Hart Lane - 420 places).

The plan is to have these in place by September 2015.

Commented Cllr Stephen Robinson, "This is not a moment too soon; there is a shortage of school places heading towards us soon. I hope we can ensure minimum disruption to all the existing schools."

The formal consultation document setting out these proposals is here: Primary School Places in Chelmsford.

Parents and other interested persons are invited to attend a range of public drop in sessions (no appointment necessary) on 27 March, 1, 2 or 3 April. The full details are on p.7 of the consultation document.
