nhsStarting on Monday, 1st April, decisions about what kinds of NHS treatment we can receive will be made by a board of local GPs and advisers. They replace the Primary Care Trust, a board appointed by the Government.

Chelmsford, Maldon and Braintree together form the Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). More details on their website http://www.midessexccg.nhs.uk/

Also on that date, the Essex Health & Wellbeing Board takes over responsibility for the promotion of general public health. The Board is managed by Essex County Council, bringing your elected representatives into NHS oversight for the first time.
