Major planning applications for houses in North West Chelmsford

Building siteChelmsford Council is processing two major planning applications, and expects another, in the North West Chelmsford area. These include an application for 135 houses east of Patching Hall Lane/north of Essex Avenue and 223 houses south of School Lane, Broomfield. Another is expected soon for over 200 homes north of Copperfield Road. These applications were anticipated in principle following the approval by the Council of the North Chelmsford Area Action Plan in July.

The North Chelmsford Lib Dem Councillors will be speaking up on behalf of local residents to secure investment in local services and facilities if these go ahead. Commented Cllr. Stephen Robinson, "I am puzzled as to why the Council thought it didn't have to tell me and the other North Chelmsford councillors about these applications. 350 houses, even if just outside our ward, will have a big impact on local people."
