LDYS Chelmsford is a network of young people and students in and around Chelmsford with an interest in the Lib Dems. We meet regularly for 'pizza and politics' nights, and help the Lib Dems campaign nationally and locally.

In particular, if you study at Anglia Ruskin University, you could join up with other students who have already joined the Liberal Democrats - and be part of a Lib Dem Students Society. We need fifteen people to set up a society and you can do so for as little as £1. If you are interested contact us using the details below.

Campaigning for a club/bar for young people in Chelmsford

LDYS Chelmsford is currently campaigning for a club / bar for under-18's in the town. Somewhere that teenagers can hang out and relax with their friends and listen to music. Said Stephen Robinson (the local prospective Lib Dem MP), "When I visited local schools recently, I was told that there aren't enough facilities for young people in Chelmsford. In a poll I conducted, the top request was for a club/bar. If you agree, please support our campaign by signing the petition. The more people who sign it the more chance there is of it coming about."

Fri 13th Oct 2006:

Robinson back in the classroom.

Around 100 students at Boswells college, Springfield, heard from Chelmsford Liberal Democrat Stephen Robinson this Monday. The college has a weekly programme of outside speakers.

Thu 28th Sep 2006:

Students sign up at Lib Dem stall.

Nearly 200 students at the Anglia Ruskin university Freshers' Fair on Tuesday signed the Lib Dem petition to scrap tuition fees and many backed the establishment of a Lib Dem Students Society at the university.
