Councillor Nichols recently took a complaint from a local resident about the dumping of rubbish into pond at the rear of her property. Since then great strides have been taken to bring the pond, situated in St. Peter's College playing field, back to life.

It is hoped that young people at the school, with the help of local environmental youth action group impACT, will be able to develop a management plan for the site and surrounding areas for wildlife.

"The outcome of this anti-social behaviour has turned into a very worthwhile environmental project" said Councillor Nichols.
