Lib Dem action to improve safety at Parkway crossing

Calls from Keith Francis (Central Chelmsford Lib Dem County Councillor) have achieved a number of measures to improve safety at this busy and valuable crossing. Cllr Francis met with officers and the new cabinet member for transport (Cllr Norman Hume) to persuade them that special measures were necessary.

The speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph and a 'Green Man' sign added to face pedestrians. However, it is still uncertain as to whether Cllr Francis' request for greater priority for pedestrians will be agreed.
