Simon Jones gets overgrown paths fixed for Cathy Chitticks and Wellington Close residents

Residents of Wellington Close, off Queensland Crescent, Chelmsford, are delighted that their overgrown side and rear pathways have been trimmed back following pressure from local Lib Dem Councillor Simon Jones. The paths were badly overgrown with brambles and weeds, and have now been cleaned up and trimmed by Chelmer Housing Partnership.

Local resident Cathy Chitticks said "The paths were a hazard to both adults needing rear access to and from their gardens, and to children who regularly use the path for playing. People were getting scratched and clothes snagged on the prickles. I contacted Councillor Simon Jones who came around promptly to see the problem for himself. He got in touch with CHP and within a short time the paths were sorted out. We are delighted with the prompt service from our local Councillor."

Cllr Jones added that there were still some further issues regarding the shrubbery that needed examination. "A nearby parking area is cannot be used because of the gluey deposits which drip from overhanging trees."
