Lib Dem candidate for the Lawns by-election, Robin Stevens has welcomed the parking ban at the Stump Lane junction. He said, "This scheme will make a big difference to road safety. The Conservative candidate doesn't experience these local difficulties as I do on a daily basis, as she comes from Boreham."

Robin, who lives in nearby Aldeburgh Way said, "As I have gone round the patch, many residents have told me how worried they are about parking on Springfield Green. Not only will this improve road safety but will also ease the flow of traffic. But," he warned," that can lead to further difficulties elsewhere which have to be pursued and solved in turn."

Local Lib Dem County Councillor Mike Mackrory has worked hard to solve parking and traffic problems in the locality, and has had discussions with Police and the Council's Highways Engineers to come up with solutions.
