Lib Dems do well in Local Elections 2004

12.56.17pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 11th Jun 2004

The Liberal Democrat share of the local council votes across the country, at 29%, shows that Lib Dems are consistently performing much better than four or five years ago. Nationally Labour has fallen to just 26% of the vote, behind Lib Dems and Conservatives. The BBC is saying that this is the lowest share of the vote in ANY election for either Labour or Tory in living memory.
