Barry is a retired finance analyst who has lived in South Woodham Ferrers since 1984. His sons were schooled here before going to university. Barry is promoting the Lib Dem 2009 manifesto to 'get the basic services right' - not waste money on press, PR and spin doctors.
Said Barry, "I am concerned about many issues in Woodham, from wavy roads and cracked pavements, to parish council duplication with Chelmsford borough council which increases our council tax.
"I will ensure that South Woodham Ferrers gets its fair share of the two billion pound Essex County Council budget."

Over 34 years living in South Woodham Ferrers, I have watched the town grow from a small village. During that time I have raised four children, and now have seven grandchildren.
My work as a teacher and a nurse has brought me into contact with people from all walks of life, and given me a greater understanding of their needs and difficulties.
For 20 years I taught in two South Woodham schools, retiring in 1993, and continuing until 2004 to do supply work in mid Essex.
I have lived in Essex since I was 6 years old, and went to Romford Technical School for secondary education.
For 8 years I represented the ward of Elmwood and Woodville in South Woodham on Chelmsford Borough Council."
