Liberal Youth Chelmsford welcomes all students and young people!
In particular, if you study at Anglia Ruskin University, you could join up with other students who have already joined the Liberal Democrats - and be part of a Lib Dem Students Society. You can do so for as little as £1. If you are interested contact us using the details below.
The area around Anglia Ruskin University is in the council ward called Marconi
Jude Deakin is one of the Chelmsford Borough Councillors for the Marconi ward and she is also the Essex County Councillor for the area. More about Marconi ward
The skatepark in Central Park, Chelmsford is a much-needed facility but it is wearing out. Currently, skaters have to travel away from Chelmsford to find the best facilities. Chelmsford Liberal Youth are helping a group of young people in the town campaign for a skatepark that is both new and, most importantly, safe!
Other than the obvious problems with the current park, there are many reasons why a new quality facility is required. Skateboarding is an activity that deserves to be fostered and catered for. It has participants from all social groups, the current scene in Chelmsford, stronger than it has been for a long time, shows the breadth of interest in the activity.
The council is currently considering the future of public open spaces in Chelmsford. Our petition calls on the council to support replacing the skatepark with a much better facility.

Chelmsford Liberal Youth is also campaigning for a club / bar for under-18's in the town. Somewhere that teenagers can hang out and relax with their friends and listen to music. Said Stephen Robinson (the local prospective Lib Dem MP), "When I visited local schools recently, I was told that there aren't enough facilities for young people in Chelmsford.
"In a poll I conducted, the top request was for a club/bar. If you agree, please support our campaign by signing the petition. The more people who sign it the more chance there is of it coming about."
Sign the petition online (or print off a paper copy) on Stephen Robinson's young people's survey website
