Several junctions in Chelmsford's town centre are potentially lethal but perhaps none more so than the junction of Primrose Hill with Rainsford Road (map).

Visibility is poor and the traffic speeds and volumes are high.
There has been more than one serious accident here recently but no deaths (yet) seems to mean no action.

Year by year since their election to the Council in 2007, local Councillors Jude Deakin and Graham Pooley have put attention
to this junction high on the list which they have highlighted for the attention of the County Council's Highways Department, but
so far to no avail. Despite accidents that have brought the junction to a standstill and brought emergency services to the
scene, we are told it "scores too low" to merit any action. Now we are mounting a petition to try to force this onto the County's
priority list. Jude Deakin says "they say there have been no fatalities but we say that's only a matter of time. They must not
delay any more and wait for worse accidents still"
