In the week of World Environment Day, the Liberal Democrats are calling on people to make their own pledges to help the environment. Your pledge can be added directly to those made by other people in Chelmsford at the link below. You can make a small promise like using a 'bag for life'; or go further and organise a green project in your community, or offset your carbon emissions when you take a flight.

When you sign up for one or more pledges, the site will automatically give you your own branch of the tree with your own hyperlink. Please then pass it on to friends, family and other groups you know. The site will keep a total of the commitments made by everyone who joins your branch.
Chris Huhne MP (Lib Dem Environment Shadow Secretary) said: "We do not need to wait for Government action to change the way we live our lives. You can make a promise to make a green switch in behaviour. Small actions, such as saving water or switching off the lights can, when taken together, make a big difference."
