Hidden Tax Rises due after election - Robinson

Lib Dem Campaigners in Axe the Tax Campaign
"Homes in West Chelmsford could be hiked into higher council tax bands when revaluation takes place after April 1st," said Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate Stephen Robinson. "The rises here since 1991 have been higher than the national average, which means many council tax payers in West Chelmsford could see a large rise. Council tax bills for the next ten years will be based on the April 1st 2005 property prices."
"On this 15th anniversary of the damaging poll tax riots, Lib Dems have pledged to scrap the unfair Council Tax and replace it with a local income tax based on what people can afford. Our carefully costed and independently verified figures show that a typical family's bill would be cut by around £450 a year. Six million pensioners would pay nothing at all."
"With more than 7 million families facing a 20% or more hike in the council tax bills throughout England, a new and more damaging protest could be about to hit the streets.
